Horse-drawn carts were also still seen up to the late 40's/early 50's on the lower east side of Manhattan.

That little two-lane tunnel between Windsor and Detroit is cute. Smallest cross-river tunnel I have ever driven through. Those chimneys weren't from heavy industry in downtown Detroit. They were probably from a power plant. Even Manhattan Island had that at the time.

I remember this fire like it was yesterday I find it interesting to look back at this years later. The thing I remember the most is me wanting to leave 😂

The lady next to Bill Kennedy could have been Judy Garland, maybe playing at the Elmwood, Stars on Bill's show were usually in town to entertain there and get publicity on Bill's show, Like Jimmy Durante.

Windsor is a big part of my blood, there are a few streets names after my family and one of my great grandfathers was a Bablo boat captain.

Holy crap, this is amazing. Im from Lansing, MI and we'd drive to Detroit, cross the ambassador and spend evenings partying in Windsor. We would always go to the Million Dollar Saloon and Cheetahs, but i remember that we'd end up at the Honest Lawyer every time. Didnt that place have a bowliing lane with pins on ropes?

SO i guess it was around 1982 I moved back to Windsor just as the punk wave was on the decline, or was it? I was given a goalie mask and and a 3 string bass guitar to play with Olrac and the Cheesecakes. Stella put a case of beer in front of the stage and the rest is history...........
